Breanna McCarthy is the Managing Attorney at Chisholm Law. Her practice areas include trademark law and representation of nonprofit organizations.
Breanna was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 16. This life changing experience caused her to realize the important role that local nonprofits have on individuals and the community. She participates in the yearly Seize the Day 5k in Kansas City to raise awareness for the condition in the greater Kansas City area – even though she hates running. Working to help establish nonprofits every day is fulfilling because she sees the impact the Epilepsy Foundation had on her.
She attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and then later got law degree at KU. While there, she was a reporter and anchor for the school TV station, studied abroad in England, and even worked a couple of games for ESPN.
While in law school at the University of Kansas, Breanna participated in the Media Law Clinic and had an article presented at the annual conference. During her final year she worked on an article that was published in the University of North Carolina First Amendment Law Review.
Breanna enjoys visiting her parents in Colorado, Harry Potter, Marvel, and reading. She is a loyal Jayhawk basketball fan.
