Trademark FAQs.

  1. What packages do you offer? Our basic package includes filing a federal trademark application for one mark (name, slogan or logo) so that you can own it in all 50 states. Our professional package includes filing a federal trademark application for one mark (e.g., name and logo) so that you can own it in all 50 states AND unlimited legal representation regarding the application. Our ultimate package is the professional package for three marks (name, slogan and logo) so that you can own them in all 50 states.
  2. How much does it cost? It depends on which package you need. Please schedule a Trademark Protection Consultation (Value: $450) free of charge with our team so that we can discuss your brand and let you know the investment based on what you need.
  3. What do I need to get started? We simply need to know what it is that you want to legally protect (name, slogan and/or logo). Just give us a call or send us an e-mail. We will send you a (1) new client form and (2) secure payment link to get started. Once those two items are received, we will schedule your appointment with our trademark attorney and start the process.
  4. If I have a logo, does it need to be ready? No. During your meeting with the attorney, we can provide you with guidance as far as what your logo needs to look like in order to be positioned to receive maximum legal protection.
  5. What do I do when I am ready to hire your firm? Just give us a call or send us an e-mail. We will send you a (1) new client form and (2) secure payment link to get started. Once those two items are received, we will schedule your appointment with our trademark attorney and start the process.
  6. How long does it take for you to file my trademark application? With client cooperation, meaning when our clients respond to our e-mails promptly and provide us with the information we need on time, we can typically complete the process start to finish within 4-6 weeks.
  7. What if I need my application filed earlier? Contact us for a quote for our expedited service which provides a faster turnaround than our standard packages.
  8. How long will it take before we get an approval from the federal government? It typically takes the federal government from 8 to 12 months to render a determination regarding a federal trademark application.
  9. Will I have to wait to be approved before I can start doing things with my trademark? During your consultation with the trademark attorney, you will receive detailed instructions regarding what you legally can and cannot do while we wait to hear back from the federal government regarding your applications.
  10. Is there a way to pay extra to have the government process my application faster? Not at this time.
  11. How do I know if my mark (name, logo or slogan) will be hard or easy to protect? Our process includes a Comprehensive Legal Name Search that will let you know our legal opinion regarding the mark and its likelihood of a successful registration.
  12. What if you find someone else already owns the name after the search? We will give you an opportunity to swap the name for another name. We will include a basic search (federal registry) for any new names for free. The Comprehensive name search is additional per name since it costs us a lot to have an actual attorney review all of the results and render a formal legal opinion.
  13. How do I know for sure if getting a federal trademark is right for me? If you own a business or nonprofit, product or service or are thinking of starting one, with a name, logo or slogan, you will want to protect it with a federal trademark.
  14. Why should I hire your firm over cheaper alternatives? We have the experience necessary to get your trademark approved since our firm has a 100% success rate with our trademark filings (Disclaimer: Past results do not determine future outcomes). We do not have any hidden fees since filing fees as well as ongoing legal representation until a determination is rendered or for a year afterward – whichever comes first – is included in the price.
  15. Can’t I just research online and do it myself free online? You can, but we do not recommend it and neither does the governing body that reviews the applications. The United States Patent & Trademark Office states that “Although not required, most applicants use private trademark attorneys for legal advice regarding use of their trademark, filing an application, and the likelihood of success in the registration process, since not all applications proceed to registration. A private trademark attorney (not associated with the USPTO) may help you avoid many potential pitfalls.”
  16. Are there discounts if I am ordering multiple trademarks at the same time? Yes, please contact us with the number of trademarks you would like to purchase and we can provide you with our volume discount rates.
  17. How do I place an order if my organization is tax-exempt? Please contact us and we’ll arrange for you to fax a copy of your tax exempt letter and process the order.
  18. What forms of payment do you accept? All major credit cards, debit cards, Paypal, wire transfers, cash, money orders and bank checks.
  19. If I do not have a Paypal account, can I still order? Yes. Our online checkout via Paypal gives you the option to pay with any major credit card or debit card.
  20. Can I pay with a check? We accept money orders and bank checks. However, they are subject to a 5-day hold and we will not be able to start the process until it clears from our bank.
